About
I’m a British football media entrepreneur and business professional based in Spain, with almost three decades of experience in digital publishing, sports media, audience development and commercial strategy.
My professional interests span football, business development and emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and its practical applications in business and media.
KopTalk – Independent Football Media Since 1998
I am best known as the founder of KopTalk, one of the longest-established independent websites dedicated to Liverpool Football Club.
What began as a personal project in 1998 developed into a successful, full-time business, attracting a worldwide audience of Liverpool supporters.
When I established KopTalk, the internet was still in its infancy and independent football coverage online was extremely limited. Recognising an opportunity to provide supporters with news, information and opinion, I began building a platform that would become an established part of the online Liverpool FC community.
Over the years, I’ve developed and managed a digital media business covering breaking news, transfers, match analysis and opinion. My work now extends across websites, YouTube, podcasts and social media, allowing me to engage with football supporters around the world on a daily basis.
Building and maintaining an independent media business has given me extensive practical experience in digital publishing, content creation, brand development, audience engagement, marketing and commercial partnerships.
Throughout that time, I’ve adapted to significant changes in how football news is reported, distributed and consumed. From the early days of the internet to the rise of social media, video platforms and artificial intelligence, embracing new technology has always been an important part of developing my business.
CF Benidorm – Chief Revenue & Strategy Officer
Alongside my work in football media, I serve as Chief Revenue & Strategy Officer at CF Benidorm, a Spanish football club with ambitious plans for growth both on and off the pitch.
My involvement with the club began through CF Benidorm Talk, an independent media project I established after recognising a lack of accessible coverage for supporters.
When I first started following the club, I realised that many potential supporters knew relatively little about its players, management or even the division in which it competed. I saw an opportunity to provide information, introduce people to the club and encourage greater interest in the team.
The circumstances reminded me of the opportunity I’d recognised when launching KopTalk in 1998. Once again, I found myself establishing an independent football media platform at a time when there was relatively little coverage available to supporters.
As interest in CF Benidorm has grown, more independent websites and fan accounts have begun to emerge, echoing the development of online Liverpool FC communities during KopTalk’s early years.
The club became aware of my work through CF Benidorm Talk and subsequently approached me about becoming more directly involved in its development and future ambitions. I was genuinely proud and honoured to accept the invitation.
I initially joined as Supporter Liaison Officer, helping strengthen relationships between the club and its supporters, improve communication and develop the matchday experience.
As my involvement grew, so did my responsibilities. I subsequently became Director of Media & Growth Strategy, focusing on communications, brand visibility and audience development, before being appointed Chief Revenue & Strategy Officer.
Today, my responsibilities include commercial strategy, revenue development, sponsorships, strategic partnerships, media, marketing and supporter engagement. I work closely with the club’s ownership, management and commercial partners to strengthen its profile, develop new opportunities and support its long-term ambitions.
It’s been a rewarding progression, allowing me to apply my experience in football media and business while gaining a different perspective on the operational and commercial side of the game.
Recognising Opportunities and Building Communities
Looking back, the parallels between KopTalk and CF Benidorm Talk are striking. Both began because I recognised a gap in football coverage and an opportunity to bring supporters closer to their clubs.
In each case, I established an independent platform at an early stage, before a wider community of websites and fan accounts began to develop around the club.
I’ve always believed that identifying opportunities is only part of the challenge. What matters is recognising what people need, being prepared to act on it and creating something that brings them together.
It’s an approach that has shaped much of my professional life, from establishing KopTalk in 1998 to my more recent involvement with CF Benidorm.
Adelante Football
I’m also the founder of Adelante Football, an independent platform where I share my experience, insights and perspectives on football, media and supporters, drawing on almost 30 years of involvement in football media.
Technology, AI & Other Interests
I have a strong interest in technology, particularly artificial intelligence and its rapidly evolving role in business, media and everyday life.
As an extensive and active user of AI technologies, I follow developments across the industry closely, keeping up with emerging tools, new capabilities and the wider implications of artificial intelligence.
I’m particularly interested in how AI can transform digital publishing, content creation, communications, business strategy and operational efficiency. I regularly experiment with different AI platforms, exploring practical applications, improving workflows and identifying opportunities to develop new ideas and solve problems.
Having experienced several major technological shifts throughout my career, I believe artificial intelligence represents one of the most significant developments of our time. I’m enthusiastic about understanding its potential and applying it in meaningful, practical ways.
Beyond technology, I also have an interest in American criminal trials, particularly high-profile cases and how they are reported and analysed in the media.
Giving something back has always been important to me. Through KopTalk, I have helped raise thousands of pounds for charities and good causes over the years. I have also volunteered with Age UK’s Call in Time telephone friendship service, supporting older people who may experience loneliness or isolation.
Looking Ahead
Since establishing KopTalk in 1998, my professional journey has evolved from independent football media into broader involvement in football club management, commercial strategy and business development.
Today, my focus is on continuing to develop KopTalk and contributing to the long-term success of CF Benidorm.
I’m also committed to exploring emerging technologies and understanding how innovation, particularly artificial intelligence, can create new possibilities across my professional interests.
Football remains at the heart of what I do, and I’m as enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead as I was when I first started.
